C&M Arts is pleased to present Jeff Koons: Highlights of 25 Years, an exhibition featuring many of the artist's best known works. The show includes 21 sculptures and 6 large-scale paintings. For the first time in New York, Koons’s basketball tanks from 1985 can be seen alongside such other iconic works as Rabbit, 1986, Michael Jackson and Bubbles, 1988 (on loan from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) and the newest pieces just emerging from the studio. This exhib-tion will afford the public a first view of the monumental Balloon Dog (Orange).
The fully illustrated catalogue contains an original essay by art historian Rainer Crone, who examines the polarities of critical thought surrounding Jeff Koons’s career. The visual chronology accompanying the text offers the reader the opportunity to examine a quarter century of Koons’s work. Jeff Koons: Highlights of 25 Years would not have been possible without the collaboration of the artist and his studio. Many of the works in the exhibition are on loan from public institutions and private collections, among them The Sonnabend Gallery and The Brant Foundation, Greenwich, CT.
